About the Artist

Jocelyn Bergen has been making limited-edition book art for many years. She loves folded paper structures, and small books that can fit in your pocket. With BAs in English and Fine Art from UC Berkeley, Ms Bergen studied printmaking, painting, and graphic arts processes, and then has worked as a graphic designer and production artist, digital typographer, and website and interaction designer, all of which have informed her often digitally produced yet fully hand-made multiples.

Ever fascinated by narrative structures and book forms, various Bay Area book arts classes led her to associations with the Pacific Center for the Book Arts, and then the San Francisco Center for the Book. At SFCB she participated as a board member, and taught workshops such as “The Magic of Multiples,” “Glorious Greetings,” and “Minibook Mysteries.”

Jocelyn has since relocated to Kingston, NY in the mid-Hudson Valley where she loves making books and teaching workshops, both in the field at schools and libraries, and here in town at the Neighborhood Print Studio in the midtown district.
